Microwaved Chicken – Slacker food

I’m rarely go to bed until around 5 or 6 AM these days. So, what do you do in small town in Vermont when you’re hungry at 4 in the morning? I’m sick of having instant noodles because I’ve been surviving on them since I was sixteen and they usually taste horrible. Instead, here’s an incredibly simple to cook, incredibly delicious and filling meal that’s as cheap as instant noodles. The ultimate slacker meal.

Recipe? Hardly need to write one. Go to the supermarket, pick up whatever cut of meat that’s on discount for about 50 cents a pound that week, and throw it in the freezer. When you’re hungry at night, just throw a piece of the meat in a microwavable container with about a few tablespoons of water. Then place a lid lightly on the container without sealing it and microwave for about 10 to 15 minutes. That’s it. You can have it with condiments like soy sauce or teriyaki, but even on its own, it tastes incredibly good.

The thing is that the microwave preserves all the natural flavors of the chicken, and it also melts away a lot of the fat but leaves only the brown juicy meat packed with all the flavor. So, whether you’re busy doing unfinished work, playing WOW, goofing off on Youtube, or having a nice half-awake 4 AM conversation with a friend, this will brighten up your night.

  1. Sorry Fats, but that doesn’t sound very appetizing to me. I might try it if I’m starving for a few days.

    • Nah man. You gotta try it.
